Responsive Web Design

Despite my preference for The Odin Project, I wanted to at least finish the web design certificate on freeCodeCamp. Now I’ll be honest, I didn’t exactly put my full effort into it after the first couple projects. I was a bit frustrated by some, what seemed to me anyway, project requirements that had no real reason or logic behind them.
I was learning how to use floats, flexbox, and grid layouts through The Odin Project, and Internetting is Hard. But then going back to fCC, it felt like I was having artificial constraints put upon me for no real reason.
I didn’t like that I would create a solution that met the intended requirement, but then an additional requirement further down the line would force me to use another way and I’d have to reattack the job I’d already achieved just to check a box.

I did check those boxes though, and finished up the certificate. I wouldn’t say I was exactly proud of my last couple projects, because at that point I really cared more about fulfilling the requirements, rather than putting together a nice, polished project. Honestly, being this early on, it’s probably the right call. There’s still a lot to learn, and if I can create something functional, that acts as intended, I can worry about all the aesthetic upgrades further down the road.
